Krimml Waterfalls

In the Salzburg region, at the far end of the Oberpinzgau, lie Europe’s largest waterfalls – the Krimml Waterfalls. Here you can feel, marvel at and experience the incredible power of the water at first hand. The falls have an incredible drop of 380 metres – yes, this is a natural spectacle of the highest order.
Thanks to the Austrian Alpine Club, there is a well-maintained path here that leads uphill for around 4 km, passing numerous viewing points. Time and again, you find yourself very close to the waterfalls – a very special way to cool off on hot summer’s days.

This incredibly unique attraction is situated at the mouth of the Krimml valley, at the far end of the Pinzgau region. The enormous volumes of water that rush down the valley every day cascade over three tiers. On average, 5.6 m³ of water surges down every second – and, as you can imagine, that’s an incredible amount.
Around 400,000 visitors come to Krimml every year, not only because of the unbridled power of the water and the stunning panoramic views, but also because of the refreshing mist, which has a positive effect on health. This attraction ranks among the 10 most visited in Austria.
