What does ‘smash’ mean? This trendy youth slang term roughly translates as ‘good’, ‘cool’ or ‘great’. In Mittersill, people know the term from the restaurant in the cinema. ‘Smash n’Go’ is the name of the restaurant that breathed new life into the town’s catering scene in 2020. The brains behind the concept and its founder is Adam Vad – a friendly, enthusiastic young man who, together with his wife Timea and his restaurant concept, has perfectly captured the taste of the Pinzgau region. His secret recipe is the “Smash’ed” burger, which creates a multitude of roasted flavours by firmly pressing (smashing) the patty onto the grill.

Do they want to stay here in Mittersill? “We love this place! Although it’s not always easy to juggle running the cinema and the restaurant, we always find a way. At some point, the time will come when we’ll have to decide which direction to take…” Who knows, perhaps there’ll soon be a new addition to Burger Himmel? One thing’s for sure: Adam and Timea still have plenty of ideas and lots of plans.
