Where love takes us and what makes our hearts beat
Murnau–Mittersill – Christine Schobert knows this route like the back of her hand. For the past six years, the mum of two has been travelling regularly from her home in the leafy outskirts of Munich to her second home in Oberpinzgau. Her husband Felix and their two girls, Isabella and Charlotte, naturally always come along – after all, the grandparents in Mittersill are always delighted to spend time with the little ones. “Grandma Eva used to work in the shop herself; now she helps me so that I can balance work and family life,” says Christine gratefully. “We have two places close to our hearts. Whether it’s Bavaria or the Pinzgau – we love coming here and are always happy to return. It feels like coming home every single time.”
It was by no means part of the plan that this nature-loving, all-round mum and businesswoman would one day be at the helm of the Oberpinzgau-based fashion company. After graduating from HAK, the lively young woman from Pinzgau moved to Innsbruck to study international business. During her student days, she always enjoyed going home. “I’d help out in our shops – I always really enjoyed that: I’d meet friends and acquaintances whilst doing what I love – advising customers and sharing their delight in finding the perfect outfits,” she explains. She gained experience in the fashion world over several years as the manager of a Peek & Cloppenburg branch in Vienna. At the age of 34, she decided to carry on ‘Mode Moosbrugger’ in the spirit of her parents. “OK, I can see you’ve got this,” said her dad a few days after the handover. “I was lucky enough to be able to take over such well-established shops,” she adds with a smile.
