Sport Steger
“I think I have quite good common sense, and that’s important when it comes to making many decisions,” says the likeable young entrepreneur Daniel Steger. “I certainly owe that to my six-year training course, which focused on finance and risk management, at the tourism college,” he says. He is also well aware that his family has given him a solid foundation. His father, grandfather and uncle all come from the sports industry. His enthusiasm for the sector and the wide range of opportunities it offers were instilled in him from an early age. In 2014, he launched the “Sport Steger” project together with his parents, opening their first shop, “Marken Outlet”, in the centre of Mittersill.
“The concept of offering well-known sports brands alongside expert advice at consistently reduced prices has been a complete success,” says Daniel, visibly proud. Work continued on developing new ideas and visions for the future. “We were planning more shops and I could hardly wait to put these plans into action.
But first I had to finish my A-levels,” he says with a smile. After that, everything happened in quick succession: within a year, the family business opened three more branches – the service point at the Panoramabahn mountain station, the current flagship store “Sport Steger” on Stadtplatz, and the golf shop at the golf course.
