Many people may not realise it, but everyone has a need to find joy in seemingly everyday objects. Be it Mum’s breakfast mug, the Sunday dinner service used for family meals, the hammer with which a proud father hung the first baby photo on the wall, or the toy tractor with which the little one happily rounds the corner every morning. The joy customers derive from the products they’ve bought is what inspires the Huber family every day.

A passion for the business is practically in their blood, passed down from their father and grandfather, Hans Huber. He bought and took over the building – already known as a trading house back then – in 1961. “It used to be a sort of ‘mini DIY shop’ selling horseshoes, nails and hardware – people even used to come to Grandad’s to buy coal by the sackful,” says Florian Junior enthusiastically. In 1986, his father Florian and his wife Maria took over the business and began to expand the product range.
