A warm ‘Welcome’ greets health-conscious visitors seeking relaxation and lovers of tasteful accessories as soon as they enter the shop on Mittersill’s Hauptstraße.
As you step into Alpenrelax’s stylishly furnished showroom, a lovely sense of well-being washes over you. Added to this is the pleasant scent of Swiss stone pine, which brings back memories of your last walk in the woods.

Things are really busy at the moment: newly arrived upholstery, vases, lights and decorative items with a summery look are being lovingly arranged and shown in their best (sunlit) light. “Sales are my thing. I love inspiring people and doing them a favour in the process.” Annemarie Wieser is a passionate saleswoman. Her main focus has always been on high-quality goods and beautiful, exclusive sales – and has been for over 30 years. Together with her husband Rudolf, she created the ‘Alpenrelax’ brand just under 15 years ago and has been steadily building it up ever since. “We saw that the need for relaxation and healthy sleep was growing all the time,” says Mr Wieser, reminiscing about the start of their self-employment. “Nothing has changed in that respect to this day; on the contrary: people want to get to know themselves, discover what does them good and create a lovely home – and that’s where we come in.” Together with their customers, they develop a sleep concept tailored to each individual’s needs. This involves using high-quality, predominantly local natural materials, processed using sophisticated technologies and genuine craftsmanship. “Restorative sleep is an effective form of preventative healthcare,” says the sleep expert. “The use of Swiss stone pine enhances the effect: solid Swiss stone pine beds improve the quality of the room and have a calming effect.”
