There are several options for charging your electric car in Mittersill:

Medical care in Mittersill, Hollersbach and Stuhlfelden is provided by GPs, specialists, pharmacies and the Tauernklinikum Mittersill. Emergency care and medical support are also guaranteed in the region at all times.

Even in bad weather, the Mittersill – Hollersbach – Stuhlfelden region offers plenty of attractive options for a varied holiday.

The focus is on the National Park Worlds at the Mittersill National Park Centre, which provide fascinating insights into the flora and fauna of the Hohe Tauern. The programme is complemented by the Felberturm Museum, which vividly presents the history and culture of the region. For relaxation and leisure, there is also an indoor swimming pool and other indoor facilities in the surrounding area.

The inclement weather programme is complemented by cosy cafés, shopping opportunities and small day-trip destinations, which ensure a variety of experiences even when it rains.

PLEASE NOTE: Within the area of the Mittersill municipal area , tents, caravans, motorhomes and similar mobile accommodation may NOT be pitched or left in public outdoor areas for the purpose of overnight stays. Camping in open country within the Hohe Tauern National Park is strictly prohibited!

Many products are made by local farmers using traditional, handcrafted methods and so go straight from the producer to your table – transport distances could hardly be any shorter.

Various guest and discount cards are available in the Mittersill–Hollersbach–Stuhlfelden region.

• M+ Guest Card: The visitor card for Mittersill–Hollersbach–Stuhlfelden is free of charge and is issued directly at your accommodation, together with the Guest Mobility Ticket.
• National Park Summer Card: As a guest, you can obtain the Summer Card from one of the participating partner establishments.
• SalzburgLand Card: The SalzburgLand Card is only available online. You can buy the card for 6 or 12 days.

Since May 2025, overnight guests in the province of Salzburg have been able to use the Guest Mobility Ticket to use all public transport in SalzburgerLand free of charge for the duration of their stay.

The ticket is valid on city transport, regional buses, S-Bahn trains, regional trains, long-distance trains and the Salzburg Verkehr shuttles. You can obtain the Guest Mobility Ticket electronically as a digital wallet or as a PDF directly at check-in or via pre-check-in at your accommodation in the province of Salzburg.

The ticket is charged as a mobility levy and is therefore added to the accommodation tax at a rate of EUR 0.50 per person, per night.

The Mittersill Plus Information Office is situated at Zeller Straße 2, 5730 Mittersill.
If you’re coming from the direction of Zell am See, you need to cross the bridge; the car park is on the left after about 100 metres.

In Hollersbach, there is also a tourist information centre, which is in the same building as the post office in Hollersbach.

Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 12:00 & 13:00 to 17:00.

During the peak season (summer holidays, Christmas & Easter), the office is also open on Saturdays by telephone from 09:00 to 12:00.

Mittersill Plus vouchers can be purchased at the Mittersill Plus Information Office.

They are available in denominations of 5, 10, 20 and 50 euros. The vouchers can be paid for in cash or by debit card. The vouchers can also be ordered online via the M+ website.

Pinzgauer Lokalbahn
The Pinzgauer Lokalbahn narrow-gauge railway connects the Oberpinzgau region from Krimml to Zell am See. Nostalgic journeys on historic steam and diesel trains are also available.

The buses operated by the Salzburg Transport Association complement the local public transport network. You can find timetable information here.

The national park valleys in the Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region are closed to public transport – on the one hand to protect the magnificent, unspoilt natural landscape, and on the other to allow walkers to experience and enjoy nature. To ensure that all our guests can experience and enjoy the Hohe Tauern National Park up close, we offer the hiking taxis. These licensed shuttle services take you to the national park valleys.

The local tax in Mittersill, Hollersbach and Stuhlfelden is €2.00 in each case.

According to Section 2, § 4 of the Salzburg Overnight Stay Tax Act, the following persons are exempt from the overnight stay tax:

Mittersill town centre is a short-stay parking zone (blue road markings). With a parking disc (available free of charge from the M+ Information Office at Zeller Straße 2), you can park for 90 minutes free of charge.

The short-stay parking zone also includes the car parks at Mittersill Primary School, the Berger car park, as well as the car parks in Rathausgasse and at the hospital.

If you wish to park for longer, you can use the long-stay car parks by the ornamental pond (behind the Stotter car dealership or the “Kunterbunt” nursery), at the Caritas day centre or at the National Park Centre.

Please note! - The long-stay car parks are NOT camping pitches!

The municipality of Mittersill offers its residents, guests and visitors free internet access via Wi-Fi hotspots in publicly accessible areas. Access is completely free and easy to use:

• Enable the Wi-Fi function on your device (mobile phone, laptop, tablet)
• The device will then automatically search for available Wi-Fi networks
• Connect to the “free-key” network
• Accept the terms and conditions
• Then you can start browsing for free

Bicycles and e-bikes can be hired from Sport Breitfuss right next to the valley station of the Hollersbach Panorama Cable Car. A bicycle repair service and accessories are also available.

In Mittersill, we have 2 e-bike charging stations:

• Mittersill+ Information Office e-bike charging station

The Felbertauern Road is not suitable as a cycle route. It is not possible to cycle through the Felbertauern Tunnel, the centrepiece of the road. (Motorway in accordance with Section 47 of the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO)).
Furthermore, on both sides of the Felbertauern Tunnel, the Felbertauern Road passes through numerous unlit tunnels and galleries. Nevertheless, we do offer a cycle shuttle service for the Felbertauern Tunnel.

Please note: you should expect longer waiting times (>30 mins). The cost of this service is €34 per journey (max. 4 people / 4 bikes).

If you’d like to stay fit whilst on holiday, you can do so with a game of tennis, padel tennis or squash.

The lakes and rivers in Oberpinzgau are of drinking-water quality and are a paradise for anglers and fly fishers.
Fishing permits for Zierteich, Bürgerkanal, the Salzach, Elisabethsee and the rest of Oberpinzgau are available at the Hotel Bräurup.

There is also a dedicated fishing shop there.

Within the municipal area of Mittersill , dogs must be kept on a lead in the following areas outside buildings and adequately fenced-off areas:

• Salzach Dam footpath from Stampferau towards Stuhlfelden
• Tauern Cycle Route Kürsingerdamm and golf course
• Dogs are not permitted in public sports facilities, swimming pools or children’s play areas.

Here you’ll find tips and rules of conduct to ensure everyone stays safe in the mountains and when encountering grazing livestock.

• Keep calm if an accident occurs! Try to call for help using whatever means you have available, such as shouting or waving large items of clothing to signal for help. An injured person should remain at the scene of the accident if possible, or at least in a visible spot, and must not be left alone.
• Accident reporting points are usually mountain huts, mountain inns or the nearest police station.
• The alpine distress signal can be given using visible (e.g. a torch) or audible signals: one signal every minute at regular intervals, followed by a one-minute pause.
• Air rescue can be reached throughout Austria via the medical emergency number 144 (Rettung) or the European emergency number 112.

Skiing doesn’t have to be expensive. You can find great deals, such as the ‘Resterhöhe Special’, as well as the current lift prices here.

It’s not just the ski bus – the Pinzgauer Lokalbahn (rail replacement service from Mittersill to Krimml) takes skiers with a valid ski pass free of charge to the valley station or midway station of the Panoramabahn.

If you’ve had enough of the slopes but don’t want to be without your skis, why not switch to the cross-country trails? Whether it’s a few brisk laps on the floodlit town trail in Mittersill, a peaceful glide along the high-moor trail on the Wasenmoos sun-drenched plateau, or altitude training on the “Berg-Loipe” Resterhöhe, or racking up the kilometres on sections of the Pinzgaloipe between Wald im Pinzgau and Bramberg, as well as between Stuhlfelden and Zell am See.

Equipment for skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and ski touring can be hired from Sport Breitfuß. Either directly at the main shop in Mittersill or, very conveniently, right by the slopes (valley station & middle station of the Panoramabahn).

Ski and ski touring equipment can be hired from Sport Steger. Either at the main shop in the centre or directly at the shop on the Resterkogel.

Whether it’s lessons for children, adults or private tuition. Whether on skis, a snowboard or off-piste, Snow Experts are – as the name suggests – true experts in the snow. You can also hire equipment directly on site.

As well as ski and snowboard courses for adults and children, Stefan’s Ski School also offers cross-country skiing, ski touring and ice climbing courses. Equipment hire is also available here.

Depending on the weather, the ice rink in Mittersill is open. Ice skates can be hired from sports shops in the village: Sport Steger
