Even the Celts knew that joy is only joy when it is shared. Thank goodness there are, around Mittersill there are several museums, castles, gorges and caves – places where people can come together, share their enthusiasm for culture and exchange ideas. Most cultural sites not only invite you to view artefacts, but also encourage you to get involved or to enjoy the unique natural surroundings. Whether following in the footsteps of the Celts, the Middle Ages or the mule-track trade, there has always been plenty going on in this area. This is due in no small part to the wonderful blend of mountains, bubbling waters and diverse flora and fauna – culture and nature really are like siblings.
